Work with Michel

Michel is an experienced editor, offering both line edits and developmental editing. They have worked with poetry, fiction and memoir/creative nonfiction. Their clients write in multiple genres, from science fiction to romance, literary fiction to coming of age stories.

Michel uses a sliding scale for their fees, ranging from $0.75 to $1.00 per 100 words, according to each client’s own evaluation of their ability to pay.

Publications

Recent Anthology Appearances

Michel has had work published in two recent anthologies: Story Power, edited by Kate Farrell (Mango Publishing, 2020) and All of Me, edited by Dani Burlison (PM Press, 2019).

Story Power: Secrets to Creating, Crafting and Telling Memorable Stories features a short short story by Michel, as well as a brief description of their storytelling process. The collection won the Indie Book Award for Nonfiction.

All of Me: Stories of Love, Anger and the Female Body features a creative nonfiction piece by Michel titled “Ink,” about the story behind their tattoos.

Books

Michel published two books in 2014 under their previous name (Michelle Wing): a collection of poems, Body on the Wall, and an anthology to raise awareness on domestic violence, Cry of the Nightbird: Writers Against Domestic Violence.

Body on the Wall: Poems (Saddle Road Press) received a bronze medal from the Albuquerque Museum Foundation, and Cry of the Nightbird: Writers Against Domestic Violence (Gray Wolf Press) was a finalist for both the Next Generation Indie Book Awards and the Indie Excellence Book Awards.
